Sleep sounds
Free sounds to help you fall asleep and stay asleep — play one right here, no app or sign-up. Each masks the noises that pull you awake and gives your mind one steady thing to rest on.
Play a sound now
Set a sleep timer on any sound and it fades out on its own. Want more on each one? Read the guides below.
Guides to each sound
- Brown noise for sleep — the deepest, gentlest rumble; a favourite for focus and sleep.
- Pink noise for sleep — balanced, like rainfall; may deepen sleep.
- White noise for sleep — the strongest, most complete masking.
- White noise for babies — womb-like shush, with safe-volume tips for parents.
Which sound should I choose?
They all mask noise; they differ in tone, so pick by ear:
- Brown — deep and muffled, like distant surf. The softest; great if bright sounds bother you.
- Pink — even and natural, like rain on a roof. A comfortable everyday middle ground.
- White — bright and full, like a fan. The most thorough masker for a noisy room.
Play each above for a minute and keep whichever one your shoulders drop to. There's no wrong answer — the best sleep sound is the one you stop noticing.
Prefer a melody?
If you'd rather drift off to music than to noise, our gentle lullabies are made for exactly that — slow, soft and repetitive. Some people play a lullaby to fall asleep and a steady sound to stay asleep.
Every sound, looping all night
The Lullaby app plays these sounds and gentle lullabies seamlessly through the night, fades them out with a sleep timer, and works with the screen off — no ads, ever.
